Kiwi Ad Envy #2

There’s a feeling of deja vu in this week’s Kiwi Ad Envy. Last week’s favourite ad was Vodafone’s heart warming tale of a lost pig. This week a similar approach sees BP play a part in the return of a lost rabbit. I’m betting both creative teams are less than impressed by the similarities though!

1. BP “Peter and the lost rabbit”

2. Tip Top “Hi Protein Bread”

With some clever copy writing this ad let’s you into the mind of a competitive child with their sights set on four square domination. The line about his mum being at pilates is excellent. Well done Tip Top!

3. McDonalds “Big Mac Billboard”

Billboard advertising is an art. You only have a few seconds to grab a driver’s attention as they pass by. This means you have to be careful with every element you add. It’s a tricky balance to convey you message, a call to action and your brand. Often billboards work best for brand building as it’s a tough as to expect drivers to remember your call to action the entire drive home.

Even though there’s not a single word or logo on this billboard it’s immediately clear it’s for McDonald’s Big Mac. Brand, message and call to action all wrapped into one image. Impressive!

Of course it’s also in close proximity to a McDonalds restaurant in case you needed clarification, or suddenly find yourself craving a Big Mac!
