Hemmingway app – helping you write good
Today was a great learning day! I attended two great marketing events:
- Marketing Association’s Social Marketing “It’s not Twitter” seminar
- Concentrate’s presentation “What’s stopping kiwi tech companies selling more?”
In the next couple of days I’ll be sharing what I learned at these. Today I want to share a handy writing tool I discovered, Hemingway Editor.
This clever little app adds pointers to help you improve your web content as you write. It highlights long sentences, common grammar errors and complicated jargon. Hemingway suggests simpler wording alternatives and calculates reading level and reading time.
I’ve started using Hemingway on SilverStripe, especially on pages that are content heavy. Below you can see how it helped with this post!
Hemingway Editor Overview
Applying Hemingway to this blog post
The main issue was two longer/complex sentences and use of passive voice.
Do you think this improved the blog?
